Deep sleep, inner calm or absolute relaxation: which herbal tea should you choose?
For several years now, relaxing herbal tea is no longer a product only for sleepless nights: it has become integrated into our routines, just like reading or a yoga session. Herbanica offers you three blends that are as effective as they are delicious: Deep Sleep, Inner Calm, and Absolute Relaxation. They look similar at first glance – all three caffeine-free, all three built around well-known soothing plants – but each responds to a different moment and need. Here's how to choose the right one.
Deep Sleep: to prepare the body for sleep
Ingredients: chamomile, passionflower, oat, hawthorn, lavender
Deep Sleep has been blended specifically for the period leading up to bedtime. Chamomile and lavender are two plants traditionally associated with relaxation before sleep, while passionflower and hawthorn complete the blend to reduce the time it takes to fall asleep. This is the tea to choose in the 30 to 60 minutes before turning off the light, ideally integrated into a broader evening routine (screens off, dimmed lights, reading).
Deep Sleep herbal tea is not a sleeping pill: it's an herbal tea to help you fall asleep, caffeine-free and without the risk of dependence. If sleep problems persist, it is best to talk to a healthcare professional.
To prioritize: in the evening, 1 hour before bedtime.
Inner Calm: to get through busy days
Ingredients: chamomile, ashwagandha, oat, hawthorn, lemon balm, lavender
What distinguishes Inner Calm is the presence of ashwagandha, an adaptogenic plant long used in Ayurvedic medicine and increasingly studied for its role in the body's response to stress. Combined with lemon balm — known for its soothing effect — and chamomile, this herbal tea is designed for moments when the mind is racing: before a difficult meeting, during a busy period, or simply to catch your breath in the middle of the day.
Unlike Deep Sleep, Inner Calm does not specifically aim to induce sleep: it can be drunk at any time of day without causing particular drowsiness, making it a good option for breaks at the office or between tasks.
To prioritize: during the day, during periods of stress or high mental load.
Absolute Relaxation: the versatile relaxing herbal tea, anytime
Ingredients: chamomile, lemon balm, oat, lavender
Absolute Relaxation is the most versatile of the three. Without ashwagandha or passionflower, its profile is milder and can be drunk at any time of day without a drowsy effect. It's the everyday herbal tea: the one you drink while working, reading, or simply to take a break with a warm and comforting beverage.
To prioritize: any time of day.
How to choose concretely?
Simply ask yourself: when do I need help, and for what?
- If sleep is your concern → Deep Sleep, in the evening.
- If it's the stress of a busy day → Inner Calm, during the day.
- If you are looking for a relaxing break without time constraints → Absolute Relaxation, anytime.
Of course, nothing prevents you from combining all three depending on the time of day – which is what several members of our community do, keeping all three formats handy.
How to properly prepare your herbal tea
For all three blends, the method remains the same: hot water at about 95 °C, one teaspoon per 250 ml, steep for 5 to 10 minutes depending on the desired intensity.
In summary
Deep Sleep, Inner Calm, and Absolute Relaxation share a common base – chamomile, lavender, oat – but each has been formulated for a specific moment of your day. The best starting point is often to try all three and observe which one integrates most naturally into your routine.
