My Yoga and Matcha ritual: awakening, grounding, and mental clarity
From chaos to calm in 20 minutes
The alarm rings. Before my feet even touch the ground, my to-do list is already running through my head. And I know I'm not alone. But for some time now, I've decided to stop time, just for about twenty minutes.
It all starts with a short yoga session. That's where "I talk myself into stopping talking" ;-).
Then, I prepare a cup of matcha. Matcha is not just a simple plant; it's a tea leaf that grew in the shade, concentrating all its energy and chlorophyll to offer us its best.
An alchemy of benefits
Unlike coffee, which gives us an energy peak followed by a brutal crash, matcha contains L-theanine. This amino acid works hand in hand with caffeine to offer calm, almost meditative mental clarity. This is what is called "serene alertness."
As the hot water is poured (but never boiling, to respect its delicacy), the vegetal aroma rises. A mixture of fresh grass and slightly sweet notes.
The whisk and the foam
The movement of my bamboo whisk draws quick "W"s. Gradually, a creamy foam forms on the surface. At this precise moment, I am no longer the manager, the entrepreneur, or the rushed woman. I am simply present.
Taking your first sip of matcha is a bit like taking a deep breath at the top of a mountain. You feel awake, yet grounded. Ready to face the day, not with haste, but with intention.
It's very similar to yoga, isn't it?
Imagine the two together. Think of all the benefits you give your body in just 20 minutes.
Take care of yourself 🌿🤗
